Bonny Leibowitz has been an influential participant of the Dallas art community since the late '80s when she moved to Dallas. The artist studied at Temple University's Tyler College of Art in Philadelphia then worked in the gallery business, representing artists and organizing shows. Eventually, she began exhibiting her work. Her one person shows include those in Dallas, Laguna Beach, Palm Springs, Chicago, Hawaii and Santa Fe, to name a few.

Bonny has been recognized for her art internationally through Israel bonds, traveling to Israel in 2002 to participate in a group multi media event /exhibition. Other International group exhibitions include works curated into 'OFF THE WALL' 2014 by Karl Bielik, London, England ‘14 and "Arte Internationale", September 2013 in Matera, Italy.

She was interviewed in by Phillip J. Mellen "Mixed Media Tapes" February '15, Stephen B. MacInnis blog "Have you met...Bonny Leibowitz?" June '14, Papercity, Dallas in 2013, Luxe Magazine 2012 by Nancy Ruhling and by Lynnette Haggard, Lynnette Haggard artist interviews in 2013 and 2012. Featuring Richardson High School Art Students. Work will be displayed on the second floor of the library until February 14, 2015. The awards presentation is Tuesday, January 20 at 6:30 in the library basement meeting room before the monthly general meeting.

We have several shows each season, including a show for local high school students and a well-regarded regional show for all Texas artists.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month - from September to May - in the Richardson Public Library basement meeting room. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

The business meeting is followed by a demo artist in any of several media including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, and mixed media.

We also have Painting-of-the-Month available to members, which is voted on by peers at a break in the meeting. Cash awards are given out to winners. Show and Share, also at this time, is a display of any 3-d work by members.

Come early and participate in our Critique Corner at 6:00. Visitors are always encouraged to join us.
