Richardson Civic Art Society meets the third Tuesday of each month. Each month we have various artists demos. Our next regular meeting is October 21, 2014. Our demo artist will be Charles Mann, a talented print making artist.

Charles F. Mann is a printmaking artist who carves woodblocks and linoleum to make limited-edition, fine art, hand-pulled prints.  It is the traditional Western-style of relief printmaking using oil-based inks on archival 100% cotton rag paper.

His award-winning work has been shown in several exhibitions in the Dallas metroplex and North Texas area.  And, it is found in private collections around the United States.

Charles comes from a technical background in engineering and science with degrees from Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University.  He holds several patents on his inventions. He has worked with the astronauts at NASA’s Johnson Space Center and on communication projects on the U.S. President’s Air Force One aircraft.

His art is largely self taught via reading and experimentation over many years until he finally perfected his technique.  He left the industrial field and now devotes himself full time to his printmaking art.

As a fifth-generation Texan, he lives and works in the Dallas area.

Our shows and monthly events are held in the Richardson Public Library, with the exception of our prestigious Regional Show which is held at the Eisemann Center.

Through our events, RCAS reaches artists and art lovers of all ages, ranging from students to seniors. As a fiscally responsible organization, we continue to seek opportunities to grow and partner with others through continuing funds, grants and tax deductible donations.
