Artist’s Statement

Several years after retiring in 1998, I finally pursued a long-held dream of painting in watercolor.  Starting in 2003, I’ve had the chance to study with several noted watercolor teachers: Naomi Brotherton, Tony Couch, Jerry Stitt, Frank Francese, Mel Stabin, Nita Leland, Judy Morris, Jane Stephenson, and Catherine Anderson.

In that time I have learned and grown and am starting to develop my own style.  I prefer representational landscapes, but do some still life and portrait work, too.

Watercolor is an illusive and constantly challenging medium . . . each painting has its own surprises and gifts.

I am an active member in the Southwest Watercolor Society and the Richardson Civic Art Society.
